Even before he had signed with the company and agreed terms, most of the pro wrestling community would have said that Fergal Devitt was ideal for WWE.

A world-travelled performer of great caliber, the Irishman should have waltzed onto the main roster without any real struggle. By the time he had signed, Devitt was more than ready to.

He didn't see things entirely that way, which is why the man has spent so much time in NXT. Renamed Finn Balor, the endlessly-smooth athlete personally requested that he learn the WWE system in developmental first, and he's now been there for close to 2 years.

That has come as a surprise to some, even recently there were rumours that Balor would debut on the main roster at Payback. It didn't happen, leaving questions over when he will be called up. He certainly fits into the whole situation with AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, given his history with those men in Japan.

Signed in 2014, fans could be forgiven for expecting Balor on the main roster long before 2016.
