The WWE had a talent scout named Drew McDonald who was actually friends with Paige's dad and insisted that he wouldn't give her a tryout just because they were friends. Later on he would show up to one of the family shows and would see her actually perform in the ring, and in November of 2010, she secured her first ever WWE tryout at the famous 02 Arena in London at the age of 18. This was a time where the WWE was hiring models and trying to mold them into wrestlers. You had women such as Maryse, Kelly Kelly, and Eve Torres who had no prior professional wrestling experience, but hired for their looks and the hopes that they can mold them just like Trish Stratus. Paige was aware of this and decided to completely change her look by getting tanned, dyed her hair, and took out her piercings. Paige thought doing all those things would be what they were looking for, but it just was a look that Paige was not comfortable with. "People Power" John Laurinitis was the one evaluating her and just said that it wasn't what they're looking for at the time. From then, Paige vowed to get better and then if she got another tryout, she'd go as herself.
