10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Adrian Neville

2. Loyal To The 'Toon'

Although he has wrestled all over the world and hasn't lived in Newcastle for several years, Neville still calls himself a Geordie. He is incredibly proud of where he grew up. Whenever he had some time off from Dragon Gate he would purposefully not take independent bookings just so he could enjoy his time at home with family and friends. Neville's Geordie accent is very distinctive and doesn't look like it's going to be shed any time soon (although he and WWE have done wonders to dilute it for the TV audience). Neville probably wouldn't have it any other way: he has made no secret of the fact that he loves the city of Newcastle and, especially, Newcastle United Football Club. He often tweets about the club's matches and wears his Newcastle United shirt in interviews. When WWE toured the Europe in November, Neville got to live out a dream by being given a tour of Newcastle United's stadium St James' Park. WWE filmed Neville's return home and did a feature on it for their website and YouTube channel. While on the tour, Neville got to live out another dream when he retained the NXT Championship against Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
