https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPj0ihoskp8 Landel defeated Terry Taylor at Starrcade 1985 to capture the NWA National Championship, perhaps marking one of his greatest achievements in the ring. That was far from his only title however. He was a four-time NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Champion, a two-time AWA Southern Heavyweight Champion, and won the IPWA Heavyweight championship. In 1995, he was 72nd in the top five hundred singles wrestlers ranked by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. It was a long and storied career that perhaps peaked a little too early - but Landel certainly had his fair share of success. Again, our thoughts and condolences are with the Landel family.
