Like most aspiring professional wrestlers, things didn't immediately take off for the man who would be Super Eric.

Despite his quick progress bookings weren't exactly plentiful to begin with, and in order to survive Young had to take on a whole host of jobs to supplement his income.

As usual, this makes for a fairly entertaining list. Glimpses of Young's versatility could already be seen. as he made ends meet by working in a pizza parlour, by making brass horse harnesses and also by sand casting, which I initially misread as being 'sand castling'.

If there's a job out there making sand castles, Eric Young could probably do a good job at it.

At this point wrestling was taking over however, and Young owned and ran the Wrestleplex training facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Current TNA tag champion Crazzy Steve is arguably its highest profile graduate.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
