When he first started making waves on the independent scene. Young was using 'The Director' as his nickname.

This was purely a nickname, however, and there was no gimmick to go along with it. The idea of a wresting director doesn't fill one's imagination with hope after all.

The name came from Young's love of all things film. During his years in education Young took on as many performance-related courses as possible, taking drama and enrolling in stunt workshops and even going so far as to take part in the Improv Olympics.

'The Director' wasn't exactly an inspiring name however, and one crowd decided to do something about it. Thus, 'Showtime' Eric Young was born.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
