3. He Held The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship For 14 months
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq9q7yNCyRg One of the major talking points among WWE fans is the current state of its championships. From the singles titles to the Divas title, the question of just how important the belts are to the company is asked on a daily basis. For many of the WWE faithful, there is no discussion to be had; the titles just don't mean what they once did. That is not the case in New Japan of course, as the championship belts are held in very high regard by not only the company but by the fans as well. Balor held one of those titles, for a total of 14 months. The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship is one of the most respected belts in that company and is considered a stepping stone to the top title. For a talent to hold the belt as long as Balor did was a major statement by New Japan, as they had faith in him and believed that he was the best man to represent them in that role. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that his 14 month title reign came after two other stints as champion; the second one lasting eight months and the first one lasting 11 months. Balor is accustomed to towing the line as a respected titleholder and he could very well do the same in WWE.
