Killer Kross comes from a legitimate combat background, born into a military family that took pride in being real. He was drawn to the violence and sincerity of ECW, where blood was the norm and over-the-top wrestling gimmicks had no place. From beginning to now, ‘legit’ has been the keyword to describe the wrestling journey of Killer Kross.

This makes it all the more hilarious that Kross was trained by one of the most preposterous wrestling gimmicks of the ‘90s. Glenn Gilbertti found fame as WCW’s Disco Inferno, a disco dancing fool that somehow managed to get over. The gimmick is frequently lambasted as one of the worst of the era (despite winning the WON Award for ‘Best Gimmick’ in 1995), but Disco made lemonade from the sourest of lemons.

Since 2009, Disco Inferno has worked as a trainer for the Future Stars of Wrestling school in Las Vegas. When Kross realised that MMA wasn’t for him, he transitioned into pro wrestling and trained with Disco at the FSW school. Thankfully, Impact decided against pairing the two as an oddball tag team.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
