In 2012, Rosa Mendes managed the team of Primo and Epico (known better to today's fans as Diego and Fernando of Los Matadores) to WWE Tag Team Championship gold. Their victory over Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne at a house show was but the first step in a fairly successful run that would see the duo compete on the WrestleMania XXVIII pre-show in a victory over The Usos and Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel in a huge triple threat tag bout. With every passing win, it became clearer and clearer that Rosa had finally found an ideal role for herself. Unfortunately, WWE Creative opted to take things in a different direction, dropping the pairing before it had the opportunity to realize its fullest potential.
