Scarlett Bordeaux is one of the most beautiful women in professional wrestling, a readily-apparent fact to anyone with functioning eyes. You don’t get to work a Perfect 10 gimmick without such obvious aesthetic qualities, or at least without the ability to count with your fingers. Beauty notwithstanding, Scarlett has stated that she was a bit of a loner in her school year and didn’t go to her senior prom as a result, choosing instead to tag along with friends and check out a wrestling show.

She had no idea what pro wrestling was, but it didn’t take Scarlett long to realise that she had found her calling. Sort of, at least, as the unshakeably confident Bordeaux believed that she could do a better job of the art form than those she was watching. In her own words, she has never been the sit-in-the-audience type.

The indie promotion in question was All American Wrestling (AAW), established in 2004 and former home of performers as varied as Jerry Lynn, Mance Warner, Kevin Owens (then Steen), Seth Rollins (then Tyler Black) and plenty more. The promotion is owned by Danny Daniels, and it was the former AAW Heritage Champion who gave Scarlett her start in the business, albeit in unusual circumstances.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
