In a night that was surprisingly full of wise long-term booking decisions, perhaps none was more essential than Rollins symbolically ripping the torch from Triple H’s grasp. It’s fair to say the match itself has been polarizing (it was a long Triple H match, after all), but it offered up some great storytelling, made Rollins look like a true main event talent once more, and ended up with Stephanie McMahon being knocked through a table.

It was disappointing not to feel the presence of Triple H’s enforcer Samoa Joe at some point during the match (or the entire night for that matter), but this was a tense bout, a sort of second-go-round at the Triple H vs Roman Reigns main event from last year, albeit with more weapons, and a babyface everyone was actually invested in.

Most importantly though, Rollins finally earned his redemption, defeating the man he once called his friend and mentor. After a fairly turbulent year, Seth Rollins is back not just to being ‘The Man’, but his own man.
