8. Three Months Of AJ Styles Hype Wasted

The result of the match between Chris Jericho and AJ Styles is a non-issue. Jericho winning is fantastic to see given how committed he has been to putting younger talent over in his part-time position. Y2J well and truly deserved to have a WrestleMania victory.

Having that victory come at the expense of AJ Styles - after three months of feuding no less - is purely nonsensical.

It goes without saying that the whole purpose of the Y2AJ feud was to put AJ Styles over with a larger fan base. Styles is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world today and WWE could do some great business when those unfamiliar with his work become accustom.

Despite his two victories in the long-winded rivalry, AJ Styles was made to look like a footnote by losing when it counts. The match could have very easily been used to cement Styles' position as a serious contender, but the decision to have him lose on the Grandest Stage of Them All comes off as Vince McMahon cutting off his nose to spite his face.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
