10 Things WWE Must Do In 2017
7. Let Seth Rollins Have Some Time In The Midcard
Seth Rollins has been a predominant singles competitor in the WWE since breaking away from The Shield in 2014. "The Architect" won his first WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 31 after cashing in his Money in the Bank Briefcase in the main event of the show. Following that victory, Rollins held the title until he was forced to vacate it due to injury on November 5th, 2015. Upon his return from injury at Extreme Rules in 2016, he once again found himself in the main event, challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Title at Money in the Bank.
Since Rollins won the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 31, he has competed in fifteen pay-per-view matches split between 2015 and 2016; and of those matches, thirteen have been for a world title (WWE or Universal Championship). In fact, only his last two PPV contests have been non-title matches and one occurred at Survivor Series in which no world title was up for grabs.
The Number One Draft Pick of the brand split is an amazing competitor and no doubt deserves to be a heavily featured member of the RAW roster. With that being said, no man can be in the main event forever; especially in the modern WWE in which it is all too easy to be over-exposed.
Seth Rollins has started to take a step into the midcard but he is still hanging around the championship scene by his association with: Reigns, Jericho and Owens. Much as Jericho is currently serving Owens’ lackey, Rollins is filling a similar role for Reigns. Surely the former WWE Champion deserves better.
The Architect could use some time away from the Universal Title scene to refresh his character and get some quality wins under his belt. With the Royal Rumble on the horizon, Rollins has the chance to start a feud that will carry him to Fastlane. He can then start his inevitable Wrestlemania feud with Triple H with some much needed momentum.
