10 Things WWE Must Do This Summer
8. Eliminate The Commissioner Or GM Role Completely
WWE's reliance on authority figures has stifled the show for years, so the last thing the product needed was an injection of even more non-wrestling influence.
Instead of using the brand extension as an excuse to forge forward with a new format, the creative team decided to increase the number of authority figures on screen and have both Stephanie and Shane McMahon act as 'Commissioners' on Raw and SmackDown respectively.
Backing up the General Managers on each program, the McMahon siblings actually overshadow Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan terribly. There's no need for both roles on television, so one has to go this summer.
Ideally, it'd be the General Manager gig that bites the dust, because it's coming across as weak-chinned fluff anyway; if Foley and Bryan don't have final say on major brand decisions, what is the point of having them around in the first place?
A storyline during which both McMahon siblings are toppled from power and replaced outright by one solitary figure - pre-existing or new - on each show would be welcome.
