10 Things WWE Need To Get Right On The Road To WrestleMania

2. Sting Needs A Motive

Sting made his first WWE appearance on a WWE show last November at Survivor Series, when he got involved in the traditional Survivor Series match and helped Dolph Ziggler pin Seth Rollins, eliminating The Authority from power. Since then, he helped John Cena win back the jobs of Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan and has generally been doing everything he can to make Triple H€™s life a living hell. The question is however, just what is Sting€™s problem with Triple H, and why wait until now to arrive in WWE and cause a ruckus? Of course, the behind-the-scenes answer is that Sting has been working for TNA for the past ten years, but within the fiction of WWE programming what has Sting been doing for fifteen years, and why is he so focused on Triple H? WWE€™s narrative at the moment seems to be that Sting hates Triple H because he represents the time and era that put Sting€™s beloved WCW out of business, but that just doesn€™t sit well. Triple H has as much claim to putting WCW out of business as Al Snow might, and even still, surely that makes him the good guy, representing WWE against one last WCW soldier. The storytelling for this match is all over the place, and even its billing as a dream match rings false as there are a dozen dream matches for Sting before you get to Triple H. It may be too late, but WWE should really focus on coming up with a believable in-story reason for Sting€™s sudden appearance that makes him the babyface, and addresses what his issues with Triple H are, or the angle is dead in the water.
