10 Things WWE Needs To Improve In 2018

2. The Big Four

Put glibly, you know you've got some improving to do when Shane McMahon manages to have the best match on the WrestleMania card.

To be fair to WWE, the three other Big Four shows delivered in producing classic, five-star-contending matches in the shape of AJ Styles/John Cena at the Rumble, SummerSlam's four-way main event, and the Universal Champion versus WWE Champion clash at Survivor Series.

Each of those events were also disappointing in their own way, though. The finish to the Rumble felt anti-climactic thanks to such an uninspired choice as the winner, SummerSlam lacked a great WWE Title bout to rival its Universal Championship mega-match, whilst the Raw versus SmackDown main event clash at Survivor Series was simply poor, however brilliant its forerunner.

You may think that assessment a little harsh, but the Big Four shows take on added significance now that brand-exclusive pay-per-views are a thing again - particularly given that many of them have the look of glorified house shows. WWE has to deliver when the rosters come together, and too many times this year it felt like they didn't.
