Yowie wowie, indeed.

After being set on fire, 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt made his return in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 37, complete with a new, even more demented look. And at this year's Showcase of the Immortals, The Fiend - who had kayfabe survived being torched alive(!) - was dropped with one solitary RKO after Alexa Bliss started spouting black goo from her forehead.

As a character, The Fiend is someone who has split opinion from the moment this character reinvention initially took place for Bray Wyatt. But what was most jarring about WrestleMania 37, is that even those avid supporters of The Fiend have now been left puzzled.

It's one thing to alienate the portion of fans who are already not interested in The Fiend, but 'Mania actually managed to alienate fans of The Fiend in addition to giving those naysayers plenty more fuel.

WWE has a history of bungling Bray Wyatt over the years, with him often positioned as the guy who talks a brilliant game, only to forever choke at the big moments. In his reinvention as The Fiend, though, Wyatt became a genuine threat who was almost unbeatable.

Now, it feels as if we're hovering on a very dangerous crossroads once more for Bray - with WWE needing to be extremely careful with how they move forward with the Eater of Worlds.
