10 Things The WWE Did Right In 2014

1. Giving Daniel Bryan His WrestleMania Moment

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins had one of the best feuds of the year, the other was Daniel Bryan against The Authority. This feud all started at Summerslam 2013 when Triple H (who was the special guest referee for Bryan v. John Cena for the WWE Championship) turned heel and gave Bryan The Pedigree, and motioned for Randy Orton to come out and cash in the Money In The Bank contract. From this point forward, The Authority was born and their main goal was to make sure the face of the company was Randy Orton. Thanks to The Authority being born, the YES! Movement was also born, and gained a lot of steam with the WWE Universe. The fire was re-ignited at The Royal Rumble when Bryan (who wrestled Bray Wyatt earlier in a great match) was left out of the main event; while Batista won the Rumble causing a large cascade of boo's and displeasure from the WWE Universe. Management thought they could get Batista over as a face after being gone for four years, and even Batista himself said that it wasn't going to work. He was right. Facing the prospects of a huge dissatisfaction from the fans of a Randy Orton v. Batista main event at WrestleMania 30, the feud between Bryan and The Authority heated up again. The story would be time and time again, Triple H would do his best to belittle Bryan; which got to the point where Bryan wanted to fight Triple H at WrestleMania; which was laughed off by The Game. This led to one of the greatest moments in the history of Monday Night Raw with the Occupy Raw movement. Daniel Bryan and dozens of his supporters "hijacked" Raw by entering the ring and refusing to leave until Bryan got what he wanted. Finally Triple H caved into the match with Bryan at WrestleMania, but Bryan said that wasn't all. If he was to beat Triple H, then he's inserted into the main event at WrestleMania to make it a triple threat match against Batista and Randy Orton. Triple H was pissed, but eventually caved in, and these two fought in what was arguably the best match; which was the opening match on the main card that night. Bryan would be victorious, but attacked post-match by Triple H to weaken him for the main event later. The stage was set for the main event of WrestleMania 30 as there was a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, and Batista. The action was fast-paced with a lot of nearfalls. Triple H even sent out crooked referee Scott Armstrong, but he was greeted with a stiff kick from Bryan. After over 23 minutes, Bryan applied the YES! Lock to Batista who eventually tapped out, and Bryan was victorious. With a belt in each hand, Bryan did the YES! Chant while those in attendance in New Orleans loudly joined in with him. It was a great WrestleMania moment that had a good nine months of build into it, and for that, it is one of the greatest things the the WWE did in 2014.
