10 Things The WWE Did Right In 2014

2. Elevating Dean Ambrose / Feud With Seth Rollins

No one on the WWE roster is getting a bigger pop today than Dean Ambrose. His rise has some similarities to Stone Cold Steve Austin, and some of his mannerisms match Austin as well. As a member of The Shield, Ambrose was featured well, but obviously Roman Reigns was pushed more from his Survivor Series and Royal Rumble performances a year ago. Even after Seth Rollins turned on The Shield, Reigns was pushed to the title match at Money In The Bank while Ambrose feuded with Rollins. That feud was so good though, the WWE Universe and management took notice. It was real, it was personal, and it was brutal. Late in September, Reigns announced he would have to have surgery, and two days after that Ambrose returned from filming a movie (while kayfabing a curb stomp through cinder blocks injury). Ever since that return when Ambrose took a cab to the arena to take it to Seth Rollins once again, he has been garnering the best reaction from the WWE Universe. It lead to having a feud with top guy John Cena over who would get a piece of Rollins at Hell In A Cell. The feud with Rollins is one of the best ones of the year; while Ambrose has elevated himself to become a contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2015. Taking a chance at making Ambrose a top guy is one of the best things the WWE did this year.
