5. Turning Seth Rollins Heel & Winning Money In The Bank
We all knew it was going to eventually come. When you have three huge stars in The Shield, there will come a time to break up the group and have them start succeeding on their own. Kudos to the creative team in choosing an unexpected time, and an unexpected member to be the turncoat. Back in June fresh off of The Shield's second defeat of Evolution and Batista quitting, Triple H had a Plan B. Seth Rollins turned on his brothers to join The Authority. Many speculated that Dean Ambrose would be the heel with Seth and Roman Reigns being faces, so that was another swerve that was given to us. And to Seth's credit, he has really pulled off the heel persona well. The WWE Universe still chants "YOU SOLD OUT! YOU SOLD OUT!" nearly six months later. Shortly after turning on The Shield, Rollins won the Money In The Bank match for a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship good for a year. Seth Rollins is one of the top performers in the company, and his heel turn and elevation have been well done. Something the WWE definitely did right in 2014.
