10 Things WWE Did Right At Extreme Rules

2. All The Winners Have Bright Futures

Look at the winners at Extreme Rules: Bryan, Paige, Wyatt, The Shield, Barrett, Rusev and Cesaro. What do they all have in common? All of them were a part of WWE's developmental system whether it was FCW or NXT. Guys like Bryan, Rollins and Cesaro were the most developed before they got to WWE, but the others really became the stars they are through the WWE system. It's a sign that what WWE has been building in the development system is really working. That's something that should motivate the talents currently in NXT as well because the same people that were in their spots two or three years ago are now performing on the big stage and getting wins over credible WWE superstars. The majority of those performers are still in their 20s. Bryan, Cesaro and Barrett are in their early 30s although they all have a lot of years left. If you look at those that lost at Extreme Rules, the likes of Rob Van Dam, Triple H, Batista and Kane are all in their 40s. They're not going to win too many matches against younger talent in a big match setting. That's right way to book things. The current WWE environment is going through a youth movement. It's a great thing for the company's future.
