Going into the show, there was plenty of discussion of what match might go on last. A lot of people, myself included, assumed that The Shield vs. Evolution would go on last. It would have been the third year in a row at Extreme Rules where the WWE Champion didn't go on last. Instead, Daniel Bryan defended the WWE WHC against Kane in the main event. The last two years WWE held an Extreme Rules event the WWE Champion didn't go on last. Two years ago it was Brock Lesnar's WWE return match against John Cena in the main event and then last year it was Lesnar defeating Triple H in a Steel Cage match. It's a good thing that WWE put Bryan in the main event because that is their way of saying that this guy is the champ and we're going to showcase him more than anybody else on the roster. The WWE Champion should be in the last match. It's understandable why he isn't sometimes, but on a show like this it made sense. They could have ended the show with The Shield going on last since they got the win too. Either match would have sent the fans home happy. They'll have their time, though. Now that we're in the "Reality Era" with Daniel Bryan as the WWE Champion, the right decision was made in having him end Extreme Rules with a win over Kane. End the show with the crowd chanting "yes" for the best in the world. It's what was truly best for business.
