10 Things WWE Did Right At Extreme Rules

10. They Didn't Go Overboard With Gimmick Matches

Prior to the event, some fans were complaining that there weren't enough matches that had stipulations on them. In past years, WWE has had Extreme Rules events where every match had a stipulation. This year only the Extreme Rules, Steel Cage, Triple Threat Elimination and WeeLC matches allowed for stipulations. The WeeLC match was a joke, but they did have an entertaining match. The problem with doing too many stipulations in a three hour show is that by the time they get to the main event the crowd would be too burned out by then. In the Bryan/Kane match that went on last, they used more weapons than any match minus that WeeLC "battle" in the opener. All of those kendo stick, chair shots and even uses of a fork lift meant a lot more because we didn't see them used earlier in the show. Moderation is key in wrestling. You can't keep doing the same things over and over. It gets old after a while.
