10 Things WWE SmackDown Must Do Ahead Of WrestleMania 33

9. Find A Role For Luke Harper

As touched upon earlier, Luke Harper is currently in contention for a WWE Title shot at WrestleMania. But even if he beats AJ Styles next week to be crowned the number one contender, there’s still the aforementioned Randy Orton conundrum to factor into the equation.

Victory for Harper could result in that ‘Mania title match becoming a three-way, and though that may sound like the best idea on paper, there’s no concrete evidence that it’s in the pipeline. Failing a Harper vs. Orton vs. Wyatt match, Harper may have to settle for a bit-part role in either the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal or some kind of multi-man match elsewhere on the card.

Irrespective of which of these scenarios actually plays out, the crucial part of this one is that they find some kind of role for Harper at ‘Mania.

Since breaking out from the Wyatt Family for good, Harper’s been on a roll. Ideally, and with one eye on the post-WrestleMania season, the company needs to capitalise on that momentum and shine a decent spotlight on him come 2 April in Orlando.
