10 Things WWE Want You To Forget About 2015

3. Jimmy Snuka

There are no jokes to be made here. This is a horrible situation filled with nothing but pain. In 1983, 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka's girlfriend Nancy Argentino died from head trauma she received in a hotel room near Allentown, Pennsylvania. Despite foul play being assumed (her wounds were found to fit the template of severe domestic abuse) and despite Snuka being the only suspect, the case was allowed to go cold for 32 years, and he was never charged. However, in September of this year, a grand jury determined that it had in fact been Snuka who had repeatedly assaulted the Argentino, and he was arrested and charged with third-degree murder. WWE have since suspended Snuka's Legends contract with the company, removed his profile from the Hall of Fame section of their site and, according to a press statement, are "removing his images from our media platforms pending the outcome of this case". If the charges are true, they're truly monstrous, but that's not the only source of WWE's problems. Snuka described in his autobiography that Vince McMahon attended a meeting with the district attorney at the time of the incident. Also in attendance were the case's medical examiners and detectives, and Snuka noted particularly that Vince "had a briefcase with him". After this meeting, the case went cold. Now, these are all disparate details that in no way build a convincing argument of wrongdoing against Vince McMahon, but it's evident that, for a number of reasons, WWE don't want their fans to think too much about this horrible state of affairs.
