One thing WWE has always tried to avoid is putting over small time promotions whether it's in wrestling or any other field. They don't want their fans to think anybody on their roster would work for something that wasn't the best. Mentioning Brock Lesnar's UFC run is fine because everybody knows UFC. They won't mention Batista's only MMA fight due to the fact that it was such a small time company that it would make him look bad.

When Batista left in WWE in 2010, he announced he would try some Mixed Martial Arts soon after. While he likely had hopes of ending up in UFC one day, that didn't happen. He only had one fight for a company called Classic Entertainment and Sports.

Batista's lone MMA fight took place on October 6, 2012 against a journeyman fighter named Vince Lucero, who replaced his original opponent Rashid Evans (not Rashad the UFC veteran). There was some hype for it among wrestling fans because we wanted to see what he could do, but the promotion wasn't well known and he was 43 years old when he had the fight so it's not like he had a long term future in the sport.

The fight Batista had with Lucero was very bad as Lucero was a fatter fight that got winded easily and didn't put up much of a fight. To Batista's credit, he had the courage to fight, he won the fight by TKO in 4:05 and he should be commended for that. It's not easy to train for MMA or to have a fight. However, it's not like you're ever going to hear WWE brag about Batista's greatness in MMA either.
