10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bret Hart

7. He Was US Champion In 2010 Despite Not Taking Any Bumps

When Bret Hart returned to WWE in early 2010 they put him in a feud with Vince McMahon. That led to their match at WrestleMania 26, which was basically a long squash match. It wasn't great, but it was still good to see Bret back in a WWE ring. What was notable about the match was that Bret couldn't take any bumps due to the stroke he suffered over a decade ago, yet WWE still put him in matches. When Raw took place in Toronto on May 17, 2010, Bret was in a No DQ match with The Miz. Since the Canadian fans loved Bret more than anybody, they wanted to see him. However, putting him in a match was questionable. The only bumps he took were kicks to the stomach. They did the No DQ finish to allow for interference with the Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd, DH Smith & Natalya) helping out. Following a Hart Attack double team clothesline by the Hart Dynasty, Bret put Miz in the Sharpshooter and he tapped out. The match was only four minutes long. The crowd liked it, but it really didn't add prestige to the title to put it on a retired guy that couldn't really bump anymore.
