7. His Original Finishing Move "The Unprettier" Came From A TLC Song
Christian has a unique finishing move. He hooks the arms of his opponent, turns them around so that their face is looking straight down and then he puts his weight on their head/shoulder area. With his arms locked with their arms, he drives them straight down face first. It's a similar bump to a traditional DDT and also a double arm DDT like the Dirty Deeds move that Dean Ambrose uses in WWE today. The first name that he used for his finishing move was the Unprettier. When he came back to WWE in 2009, it became the Killswitch, which is what he still calls it. Why the name change? Here's the explanation from Christian in WWE magazine back in 2009: "I never liked the name Unprettier because it's grammatically incorrect... just kidding. The real reason is that the name started off as a joke with the Hardys; one day, while the TLC song 'Unpretty' was playing in the background, I said out loud, 'I'm going to call my move the Unprettier because when I hit you with it, it makes you feel so damn unpretty.' Then an announcer said the name on the air and it stuck. To me, though, it's a vicious move, and 'Unprettier' never matched the move's sheer impact. For all this time, I've wished I could change it, and my return to WWE offered the perfect opportunity. But I don't know how I came up with the name Killswitch; it just hit me one day." It's rare for WWE to ever mention the old name of the move or that the same move had a different name, much less a name from a TLC song. That's why it's something WWE wants us to forget.
