10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Christian

3. His Two World Title Reigns Sucked

Christian has never been the WWE Champion and likely never will be, but he is a two time World Heavyweight Champion. He also was a two time ECW Champion although that's not considered a major title. It's similar to the IC Title, which he won four times. He also won the WWE Light Heavyweight Title, European Title, Hardcore Title and he's a 9-time WWE Tag Team Champion. In other words, he's won a lot of gold although our focus is on the World Heavyweight Title. Most people didn't think that Christian would ever win the World Title. Since he's not a big guy, that was always something that he had to fight against. Following the neck injury of his best friend Edge that caused Edge to retire after WrestleMania 27 in 2011, Christian was in a Ladder Match against Alberto Del Rio for the World Title at Extreme Rules. It was a huge moment in his career. A lot of fans were surprised by it, but they were happy for him because they know how hard he worked. Finally, 13 years after he started in WWE he was the World Champion! Then it ended. After two days. Christian lost the World Title to Randy Orton in a match on Smackdown. When he lost to Orton again, he turned heel because of it. Christian ended up winning it back at Money in the Bank 2011 although it was only after Orton was DQ'd. When Christian faced Orton again at SummerSlam 2011, it was an Orton win that led to another title change and Orton won the feud. Basically they wrestled a bunch of times, usually had great matches and Orton dominated that rivalry. His two World Title wins saw him win the title via ladder match and by disqualification. His total number of days as World Champion was 30 days. He didn't successfully defend it on PPV. Still, he'll be recognized as a World Champion. It's just how he won it that will really be forgotten.
