9. He Worked For TNA
It's smart for WWE to not mention TNA Wrestling because they're so far ahead of them as the top promotion in America that they should be ignored. What's interesting is that they refuse to even acknowledge them by name, yet they do talk about other promotions like Ring of Honor. Ring of Honor is a company that has clearly earned the respect of WWE because there are so many current WWE superstars with ties to that company. Superstars like Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Cesaro and of course Punk himself has a history there. One of WWE's top agents that currently scouts indy talent is Jamie Noble, who wrestled as James Gibson in Ring of Honor and had a really good run there. What was telling about WWE's thoughts on TNA was how they mentioned it during CM Punk's "Best in the World" DVD in the documentary section. Punk mentioned the places he worked with a lot of talk about IWA Mid-South Wrestling, Ring of Honor and of course WWE as well. When it came to TNA, he simply said that he "worked in Nashville on Wednesdays" and that was it. In case you didn't know, TNA had Wednesday PPVs in Nashville in their early years. Punk was in TNA on and off for a couple of years from their early days in 2002-2004 most notably in a feud with Raven. Over the years, he's made off hand remarks about TNA being the "indies" as well although generally he doesn't talk about them.
