10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Great Khali

3. The Over The Top Challenge Mistake Against Edge

http://youtu.be/Q5Oyy1e4ra4 Khali was in an Over The Top challenge with Edge where the loser of the match was the first man to go over the top rope to the floor. This was in the era of the Anonymous Raw GM sending in messages via email for Michael Cole to read. After Edge won the match by countout, the GM ordered that the match would be restarted. Edge ended up rolling out to the floor to escape an attack from Khali. That led to Khali following him out of the ring by stepping over the top rope and then going to the floor. Announcer Michael Cole immediately pointed out that based on the rules of the match, Khali just eliminated himself. He was right although Jerry Lawler tried to cover for the error by saying Khali had to get thrown over the top. That's not true, but it was Jerry's way of siding with the babyface wrestler, which was Khali. The match continued with Khali once again putting one of his legs over the top rope and then Edge dragged him to the floor to eliminate him. Basically, Khali was eliminated twice. He made a mistake the first time although only the second elimination actually counted.
