10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rey Mysterio
9. He Was Booed Loudly At Royal Rumble 2014 Because Fans Wanted Daniel Bryan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MloKwaRH_ro Rey Mysterio has been a babyface for his entire 12 year WWE career. Hearing him getting booed was pretty rare. There were certainly times when he got booed by a group of fans that may not have liked him for a particular reason, but for the most part he's been cheered. During this year's Royal Rumble match, all the fans in attendance wanted to see was Daniel Bryan. He was the most popular guy in WWE at the time and it made sense that he would be a part of it. There was little reason to keep him out although the storyline reason was that he had a match against Bray Wyatt earlier in the night. When the clock ticked down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and #30 made his entrance it wasn't Daniel Bryan. It was Rey Mysterio. "Boo!" That's how the crowd treated him. They hated it. Mysterio was only in the match for two minutes and was eliminated by Seth Rollins. After the Rumble, there were reports that said WWE officials feared the boos, so that's why they put a babyface like Mysterio in at #30 with the thought that he wouldn't get booed. Wrong. He was hated. Anybody would be because the people wanted Bryan and they didn't get him.
