10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Ultimate Warrior

10. He Sucked As A Wrestler

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zcghy8_PHpM What the Ultimate Warrior brought to the table was an unmatched character in terms of his intensity. That's what he was most known for. When fans talk about him they don't want to rattle off his 20 best matches the way we do for the best of all time like Michaels, Hart, Savage, Flair and guys like that. For Warrior, it was about everything other than the matches. In terms of great matches, two stand out: WrestleMania 6 with Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania 7 with Randy Savage. Savage was arguably the best performer in the company at the time. Everybody had great matches with him. The Hogan match was apparently carefully scripted move for move nearly a month beforehand so they could get it right. There were some good matches with Rick Rude too, but again that's more of a credit to Rude for being a great worker. Most of his matches were pretty bad. That's why they booked him to have a lot of squash victories. It was all about the clotheslines, shoulder tackles and the big splash. Usually big splashes were saved for fatter wrestlers, but Warrior was such a limited performer that they let him use it as a finish. He was a guy that was known to blow up (get tired) quickly. When you carried a lot of weight like he did and he used steroids to enhance his physique, it's going to affect you. Make no mistake about it. Warrior is a legendary professional wrestler with good reason. However, it was not because of his in-ring performances.
