10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About 2021

1. The Mass Releases

Speaking of rear view mirrors.

WWE put a ton of talent behind them in 2021. Approx 80 (or therein thereabouts) wrestlers were released from contract this past year. That staggering cull took everybody by surprise, and it led to a lot of negativity on social media. Some folks just have a bad taste in their mouths about all this "budget cut" business.

Vince McMahon will want his customer base to move on from that as quickly as possible. After all, he has to project the image of a family-built company that makes dreams come true - there's no room for the grim reality of people losing their jobs during an uncertain time globally or wrestlers potentially being deported.

The boss won't want folks obsessing over all those releases when there's business to do during the insanely lucrative Royal Rumble-WrestleMania period. It's cold, it's callous and it's unfair, but those wrestlers set free are yesterday's news to those who matter in WWE, and they'd like fans to think the same.
