10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bayley

9. How One-Dimensional Her Gimmick Was

Maybe WWE finally realised that Bayley's gimmick was dying a death.

Since moving to the main roster in 2016, she's been cast as a well-meaning, cuddly 'Girl Next Door' character who wouldn't do wrong by anyone and would rush home to watch her favourite wrestlers on TV after school. This presentation, along with WWE's fitful, warped desire to present themselves as wholesome entertainment for the masses, sucked.

Bayley was the single most one-dimensional character on WWE television at one point. In fact, scratch that, she was the most offensively childish performer up until debuting that new look on SmackDown. Everything, from the side ponytail and make-up that made her look like Hannah Montana's stunt double to the way she acted around fans, depicted the carefree innocence of youth.

The problem was that some were sick and tired of it. WWE wouldn't want to admit this, but they didn't have a bloody clue how to write for someone who was effectively playing the role of a big kid and make it relatable for anyone older than 12.
