10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bayley

4. The 'Friend Zone' Segments

2012's 'Anger Management' skits involving Daniel Bryan, Kane and the quirky 'Dr. Shelby' were wrestling comedy done right. Knowing this, WWE wanted to recapture their glory by booking Sasha Banks and Bayley into some counselling pre-tapes with the returning Shelby. Their segments were known as the 'Friend Zone'.

If fans were in a relationship with WWE, they'd certainly friend zone them after watching.

The entire story dragged on for an agonising amount of time without any real development. That was problem number one. Problem number two was that Bayley and Sasha lacked the comedic timing of Bryan and Kane. Plus, it should be pointed out that they tried to play off their argumentative adolescence as a serious issue.

Bayley and Banks contrasted badly with Shelby's Netflix-exclusive comedy acting, and that left the skits feeling tired less than two weeks into their run. If 'Anger Management' was WWE fun done correctly, then this was WWE comedy starring people who didn't know it was supposed to be.
