10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bayley

3. WWE Had No Women's Tag Title Follow-Up

Concerned glances came from all corners of social media when Sasha Banks launched her comeback and sneered that winning the Women's Tag belts with Bayley meant nothing to her.

This worrying admission wasn't Sasha going into business for herself. Nope, it was an accurate portrayal of WWE's own thoughts on the titles. Once they'd penned the emotionally satisfying 'Boss 'N' Hug Connection' win at Elimination Chamber, WWE didn't have any ideas for suitable follow-up. They blatantly lost interest post-Chamber.

That's why Sasha and Bayley were put into a rubbish program opposite Tamina and Nia Jax, and it's why The IIconics were given a shock win at WrestleMania 35. That victory only existed to spike interest in titles that WWE were already regretting. What an absolute cluster of booking.

Tamina and Nia Jax were placeholders in the challenger role. They knew it, Sasha and Bayley knew it, WWE knew it, and (most importantly) fans knew it. Without a proper feud to complement their tears upon winning the belts, Bayley and partner were left holding create-a-titles from some 2K video game.
