10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Braun Strowman

Green slime, "stupid" and 'Choo-Choo' noises. Did WWE ever want Braun Strowman to get over?!

Braun Strowman seemed like a WWE lifer.

The guy possesses every physical gift that Vince McMahon has ever wanted. He's tall, bursting with muscles and definitely turns heads whenever he walks through airports. Braun and WWE seemed like a match made in heaven, so the entire wrestling world was left shocked when the company announced Strowman had been released from contract this week.

This is a dude who only just challenged for the WWE Title at WrestleMania Backlash. Nobody saw his release coming, but it does give fans time to reflect on his topsy-turvy career. McMahon and his writers never seemed to know how to squeeze the best out of Braun - one minute, he was a mega-over wrecking machine monster. The next, he was working lame comedy skits and playing the friendly giant.

Tonally, his run was all over the place.

There's loads that WWE would want people to forget about Strowman, and a lot of it is very recent. His first big singles push (beginning in the summer of 2016) feels like a lifetime ago, maybe because so much has happened to the big guy since then...

10. Braun Was All Over July’s Hype

Well, this is awkward.

Braun was a literally huge part of WWE's hype for live events this July. In fact, Mr. Strowman was one of the first to appear in a goofy pre-tape and say he couldn't wait to perform in front of the "WWE Universe" yet again later this summer. That...won't be happening now he's gone.

WWE won't be able to recycle Braun's happy promos before ushering fans back to venues either. Those will be deleted from any pre-tour hype, and the company will pretend their once-time 'Monster Among Men' was never part of the build back towards proper live shows.

Nope - nothing to see here, folks!

That pre-taped speech on Raw will forever be known as Braun's final hurrah in the fed. He went from World Title challenger to glorified hype man, then got released after shilling tickets. Things move rather fast in pro wrestling, don't they?
