10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Braun Strowman

4. The ‘Wyatt Swamp Fight’

Wrestling became obsessed with cinematic stunt shows during the first six months or so of the 'pandemic era'. Being locked behind closed doors got the creative juices flowing, and some cinematic bouts (like 'Boneyard' and AEW's 'Stadium Stampede') worked a treat.

Then, there was the 'Wyatt Swamp Fight'.

Fittingly taking place on a pay-per-view dubbed 'Horror Show At Extreme Rules', this filmic f*ck up dragged on for 18 minutes and tried to bring the curtain down on Braun's history with Bray Wyatt. The problem was that WWE went overboard with their own cinematic universe and ended the show by drowning Strowman.

Yes, this actually happened. Or...didn't happen if you want to separate these cinematic matches from everything else that happens on screen. WWE themselves seem happy to do that when it suits. Maybe all would be forgiven if the spectacle was worthwhile, but this wasn't.

It was crap, and failed to cap off the pay-per-view in a satisfying way.
