10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bray Wyatt
The 'New Face of Fear' hasn't always been so terrifying...
As far as WWE track records go, Bray Wyatt's is pretty spotless. He's never violated the Wellness Policy or had any run-ins with the law. Contrary to the devious character he portrays onscreen, he seems to be a very good ambassador for the company off of it.
However, despite keeping his nose clean outside of the ring, Wyatt's relatively short pro-wrestling career has been littered with embarrassing incidents - moments WWE would love for fans to forget.
Although he currently possesses one of the most compelling gimmicks on the WWE roster, Bray's suffered through all manner of ill-advised character changes, cringeworthy angles, and baffling feuds. In just half a decade with the company, he's already amassed enough embarrassing moments to last a lifetime.
Here are ten things WWE wants you to forget about Bray Wyatt...
10. Any Mention Of Husky Harris
Even now, three years after debuting the Wyatt character, smark audiences will still occasionally shower Bray with chants of "Husky Harris". He originally debuted in FCW under the name of Alex Rotundo (and, later, Duke Rotundo), thinly-veiled takes on his real name of Windham Rotunda.
However, it was under the ring name of Husky Harris that he first gained mainstream attention, working a country bumpkin gimmick in NXT Season 2. He rode this persona all the way to the main roster, but it was dropped after a return to the developmental territory in 2011. By the time Rotunda re-debuted on TV in 2012, the Harris character was gone, and Bray Wyatt was introduced as an entirely new entity.
WWE have a notoriously rocky relationship with the concept of continuity; they'll expect audiences to consider Husky Harris non-existent, unless his previous alter-ego is referred to in a future storyline. Although hardly an embarrassing gimmick on the level of Brodus Clay's Funkasaurus, the company would love for fans to forget the Husky persona ever existed.
