10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Christian

6. He Almost Became A Parody Of The Rock

Throughout his career, Christian was an under-rated performer on the mic. When he had a good feud to sink his teeth into or some sweet material to work with, Christian could nail it in promos. Maybe that's why WWE almost turned him into a parody of The Rock.

Yes, in 2003 Christian was pencilled in to cut his flowing blonde locks (something he'd end up doing anyway later on), start dressing like "The Great One" and begin referring to himself as "The Lock". The gimmick here was that it was a lock/certainty that Christian would win any time he entered the ring.

2003 must have been a slow year for creativity.

The idea was scrapped when Christian told officials he didn't want to cut his hair at that point, and WWE decided to find something else for him to do. Armed with his wit on the microphone and affinity with the live crowd, even as a heel, Christian might have made it work, but he didn't want to try.
