10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Dusty Rhodes
6. One Of The Last Of A Dying Breed
One of the greatest talkers to ever come down the line, Rhodes had a lot to teach fledgling young stars in the world of pro wrestling. Even though he was no slouch when the bell started ringing, the 'American Dream' was a master in the art of the promo, and that's knowledge he would gleefully impart onto anybody who asked him during his twilight years. It's sad to think, but with the passing of Dusty Rhodes, all that knowledge vanishes into thin air. Sure, young wrestlers can gladly look back at a mountain of footage via the WWE Network, YouTube and other sources, but it must have been a joy any time someone had the chance to quiz the man himself on what made a memorable, alluring interview. Make no mistake about it, Rhodes was one of the last of a dying breed in the ever-changing face of pro wrestling. A quick glance at the current industry shows that it's a million miles away from the way things used to be, just ask Jim Cornette, but it's upsetting to think that all that wisdom could just drift away when men such as Ric Flair and Harley Race shuffle off this earth. WWE may not want to admit it, but these men simply cannot be replaced.
