The chants may have largely stopped now, but there was a time when Ryback couldn't appear without fans chanting the name of another wrestler at him. Debuting as the repackaged character in 2012, Ryan Reeves looked horrified when audiences relentlessly called out Goldberg's name during his matches. It wasn't hard to see why people were reacting in such a fashion.

Sporting a goatee-style beard, shaved head and heavily-muscled frame, Ryback looked eerily similar to Goldberg. The only real difference between both men physically was in the attire worn by the newcomer, who donned a singlet instead of the trunks favoured by his predecessor. Squashing everybody in his path, Ryback simply came across as a younger version of Goldberg.

WWE tried to discourage the chants, instructing Ryback to remark that he was a much better performer than the WCW legend ever had been in media interviews. The chants may have lessened, but a lot of people still consider Ryback as being a character directly influenced by Goldberg's success.
