10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Hell In A Cell

5. Shawn Michaels And Triple H Go 47 Minutes

Another 'classic' from the "Triple H is better than everybody, even his old kliq friends" era. 47 minutes is a hell of a long time for a match, particularly in WWE - but, if planned to a reasonable degree, executed smartly, and sprinkled with clever incidents to keep the crowd hot, it can be successful. Shawn Michaels and Triple H didn't exactly nail this formula at Bad Blood 2004. Instead, they put on a bloody war of attrition, one which sadly becomes a chore to watch. Noel Gallagher once described jazz music as "four blokes on stage having more fun than the people in the crowd" - and whether you agree with that sentiment or not, it can certainly be applied here. It's easy to imagine HBK and Triple H planning out this match, squeezing in every epic trope they could think of. It ended with them collapsing on top of one another in a heap, for goodness' sake. Triple H won, but you could have guessed that.
