6. His Angle With AJ Lee

Even before Nikki Bella broke AJ's record as the longest reigning Divas Champion in history, it became very clear that WWE weren't keen to mention the wife of CM Punk on air at all. Her angle with Hornswoggle was hardly the most offensive thing either have been part of, but AJ's mere presence is enough to keep it from ever being mentioned again. While it might not have been as terrible as a few of the other storylines on this list, the angle was hardly gold either. On NXT Redemption - the season in which Hornswoggle was Titus O'Neil's pro - AJ was revealed as the leprechaun's secret admirer, and began accompanying both men to the ring. Eventually, Hornswoggle became jealous of AJ hugging Titus after victories, and simply wrote her a letter stating that he no longer wanted to appear on NXT. That's certainly a straightforward way of ending a dead angle.
