10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Kevin Owens
9. His Refusal To Play Saudi Ball
Adding further complications to the now disturbingly frequent and highly lucrative WWE trips over to Saudi Arabia in recent times, a number of Vince McMahon's most popular and reliable performers have all told the boss where to go each and every time the likes of Crown Jewel and Super ShowDown pop up on the calendar.
Alongside one-time WWE titan Bryan Danielson, Sami Zayn was reportedly banned from performing at the Saudi events due to his Syrian heritage; a decision Zayn himself wasn't keen to contest due to not exactly being eager to appear on the shows in the first place.
And in what some assume to be an act of solidarity of sorts, Kevin Owens has also recently pulled himself from the questionable events, not appearing on a Saudi show since The Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. This decision also reportedly led to a WWE Championship match for KO against Kofi Kingston at the Super ShowDown 2019 event being scrapped in favour of Dolph Ziggler challenging for the strap, too.
So, if you ever see Owens in a qualifier for a match set to go down in Saudi land, or wonder why he just suddenly disappears from your screens in the lead-up to these blood money events, it's all down to Owens' refusal to play Saudi ball.
