10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Melina

9. A Legend Killer Lingerie Debut

Melina made her debut as the manager of MNM, a tag team featuring Johnny Nitro (the future John Morrison) and Joey Mercury. The trio experienced success from the get-go, dethroning Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio for the WWE World Tag Team Championships and ruling SmackDown's tag team division before going their separate ways. Melina then moved into singles competition, capturing the WWE Divas Championship twice and the Women's Championship three times.

All of that is true with the exception of the very first claim.

WWE likes to remember that Melina arrived as part of MNM, but the High Desert-native actually made her debut towards the end of 2004, with GM-for-the-night Randy Orton signing her to RAW. She was even mentioned by name, promising Randy to return the favour in any way he deemed necessary.

Later that night, flailing babyface Orton tried to placate the crowd by bringing out a bevvy of beautiful women and hosting the very first RAW lingerie fashion show. The entire segment was a bust, the audience growing increasingly restless with each striptease. The women looked understandably awkward and another nail was thrust into the coffin of misplayed good guy Randy Orton.

Not the most auspicious of debuts for Melina, so best to keep this in the bin of history.
