10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Melina

8. Her Brief Romance With Hornswoggle

When in doubt; Hornswoggle.

The Little Bastard was WWE's go to get-out clause when it came to poorly-planned storylines, meaning Vince McMahon's illegitimate son (but not really) often found himself rubbing shoulders with the top stars in WWE. Or rubbing shoulder to hip, maybe. Yes, that's a short joke. Always important to get into the WWE spirit!

That illegitimate son storyline was yet another WWE creative plan gone wrong, and a monster push for Mr. Kennedy eventually became a LOL HORNSWOGGLE HE'S SHORT sham. Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Melina took it upon herself to make the most of Hornswoggle's newfound position in the corridors of power. The former MNM manager wanted a shot at the WWE's Women's Championship, and what better way to get that than by seducing the son of the boss?

'Seducing' almost certainly isn't the right word, as the 'relationship' between the two didn't really go beyond Hornswoggle chasing a towel-clad Melina down a corridor and subsequently stripping her under the ring. McMahons gonna McMahon.

WWE's portrayal of its women has come a long way since 2007.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
