10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Raw

6. It Wasn't Snitsky's Fault

The mid-2000s feud between Matt Hardy and Kane was ludicrous enough without the later involvement of Snitsky, stretching out a very uneasy storyline into unquestionably tasteless territory. In a nutshell, Kane was battling with Hardy in an attempt to steal Lita's affections. The diva soon fell pregnant - prompting Matt to propose - but it was shockingly revealed to be Kane's child (with the possible implications of a sexual assault) leading to a PPV match after which Lita would be forced to marry the winner. Wrestling logic, eh? Kane won and married Lita the following Raw, dragging the story out far beyond its point of natural conclusion. Debutant Gene Snitsky caused Kane to fall onto Lita in his very first match, leading to a miscarriage angle and Snitsky's repeated cries of innocence. Surely the writers would abandon the angle now, right? Horrifically, there was still time for an offensive cherry to top the car-crash cake. Snitsky would come to the ring on a later episode of Raw and continue to protest his innocence, all while disturbingly cradling a fake baby in his arms. He then punted it into the crowd in an infamous moment, sure to go down as one of those which fills wrestling fans with shame when quizzed by a layman friend.
