10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rhea Ripley

1. Her Incredible In-Character Reaction To Tegan Nox's Injury

Tegan Nox's Mae Young Classic 2018 ACL injury was one so utterly devastating that plenty of folk have since forgotten exactly who it was she was sharing the ring with that night.

More's the pity too, because Rhea Ripley handled it magnificently. Wrestlers aren't typically coached to use their instincts in WWE, particularly if they've come through the Performance Center system. The whole thing's such a paradox as a result - often the most thrilling moments in a sea of familiar matches come as result of a mistake or something unexpected occurring.

Despite her youth and inexperience, Ripley's poise was remarkable. Embracing the no-f*cks-given heel gimmick she had at the time, 'The Nightmare' looked on in gimmicked disgust as Nox wailed in agony, then offered the coldest of shrugs when she was announced as the winner. A tweet that followed was almost as cruel.

As of writing, Ripley's had over half a year on WWE television and they've never managed to work out her alignment. Here, in the worst circumstances imaginable, her callous villainy couldn't have been any clearer.
